Photo Hunt ~ Memory
This is the home I grew up in which is why I chose it for today's theme. My parents built this home for $25,000 way before I was born. When we lived there, a picket fence graced the front yard (at the top of the little hill near the front door) and the room on the right was a garage. I remember my dad refurbishing a "Woody" in that garage.
Within the last 2 or 3 years I was able to go back into the house since it was for sale. As with most things from our youth, it seemed so much smaller. Sometimes I wish we could have bought it but I think that's because of my fond memories.

I love your photo - what a lovely house it seems :)
What a beautiful house! I can remember the house I grew up in too. It is funny how you can remember such details about a house. I remember the way the cabinets looked, the old brick fireplace where we hung our kneesocks at Christmas. Your photograph and story are a wonderful MEMORY today!
Cheers,
-Lea
A lovely house and photo.
So many of my memories are tied together with the house I grew up in too.
Happy Saturday
Mine's up too

What a great memory. Mine is up too. I went a little bit of a different direction. I always love to see where people will go with these words, don't you? Have a great Saturday. sandy
Isn't that funny, how when we go back to see things from our childhood they seem smaller somehow... Great choice for memory and thanks for stopping by my place.
What fun to be able to go back into the house when it was for sale! It's amazing what feelings something like a house can bring out, isn't it?
What a lovely house! The memories it must hold for you. Our childhood home is almost a magical place.
what a pretty house. I would have fond memories as well if it were me..
That's a beautiful house. I'm sure it was built with love and priceless memories. Thanks for sharing. Mine is up too.
It looks so cosy, but as you say now things seem to be much smaller. I had the same feeling when I saw my parents first house again and remembered it sooo big lol !
Wouldn't it be the coolest if your kids could live in the home now?
What a wonderful, little home. I wouldn't mind living there myself.
Thank you for sharing the memory...
Sweeeeet Beckie! It's a cute house! Well kept up! I'm glad your memories were fond of it.
I went back to my own childhood home a few years ago too -- the people who are living there let me come in. Lovely couple! I was astounded by how teeeeeeny tiny that house was! It was a "row house" - and luckily and end unit - so we at least had some yard space! But I could NOT believe that my parents raised 7 children (NINE PEOPLE!) in that itty bitty little house! With only ONE bathroom! When I think back to THAT I feel really selfish for thinking I'm being "cramped" by having all my kids back home in this MANSION (comparitively speaking) that I live in! If my Mom had had all this room she would have felt like it was Heaven! (or maybe she would have felt like it was too much to clean...) :)
I never thought of this idea. How clever. I have a picture of the house I was born in....stashed somewhere.....lovely to have you share this memory with us.
I love that style of house :)
Lovely picture, lovely memories!
Have a super Saturday!
What a great looking house. I always feel houses hold incredible memories. So a very good choice for today's theme.
Mine is also up.
What a nice warm home to grow up in :) Thanks for dropping by!
There's nothing that feels like home more than the house you grew up in-doesn't matter how long you've been away...
Great Hunt!!
I just added a Mr Widget list. If you would like to come back and sign it, I would appreciate it.

What a lovely house! I need to go back and find a photo of the house I grew up in--thanks for inspiring me!
Thanks for the visit.
Last year, we went back to the town I first have memories of. Amazingly, I found the street we lived on and got a picture of our little house. The apple tree that I used to jump out of was gone and the drive had been paved. All in all it was in good repair.
What a great memory!
That is wonderful that you have so many fond memories of where you grew up. Where I grew up is many states away and all my family moved out of the state. Thanks for sharing your memory.
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend, Betty

Also have memories of my childhood home but have never had the chance to go back inside -- was your home as big or was it smaller than you remembered it was? Thanks for stopping by my blog too.
